Baked chicken bacon ranch taquitos are picky eater approved, so there are never any issues with getting everyone to finish their food. Our chicken taquitos recipe is filled with great flavor. It is loaded up with cream cheese, bacon, chicken and cheese. They work great as an appetizer as well.
Recipe Ingredient Notes
To make our chicken bacon ranch taquitos, you need the following ingredients:
- Cream Cheese
- Bacon strips
- Cooked chicken
- Monterey Jack cheese
- Green onion
- Package of dry Ranch Dressing mix

For this recipe, you only need a few simple kitchen tools. We recommend using the following equipment:
How to Make Our Chicken Bacon Ranch Taquitos
- Preheat oven to 425℉.
- Cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Mix together cream cheese, bacon, chicken, cheese, and green onions.
- Add in about ½ of the dry ranch dressing mix, or more if desired. Mix well.
- Spoon 2-3 Tablespoons of the chicken mixture onto each flour tortilla and roll it up.
- Place taquitos seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat about 20 times or until all the filling is used.
- Once finished, spray the tops of the taquitos with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle with salt.
- Place pan in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until edges and tops are golden.
- Let cool slightly and serve with ranch dressing or salsa.
Recipe Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken and precooked bacon.
- Make sure to put your taquitos seam side down when placing them on the baking sheet. This will keep them from falling apart after they are baked.
Freezer Meal Modification
To do so, prepare the recipe as directed. After rolling the taquitos, place them in a gallon sized freezer bag. You should be able to fit 12-15 in each bag. Keeping the bag full will keep the taquitos rolled up.
When ready to bake, remove taquitos from the freezer and let them thaw in the fridge for 12 hours. Place taquitos seam-side down on the baking sheet. Spray the tops of the taquitos with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until the tops begin to golden. Let them cool slightly and serve with ranch or salsa.

Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese , softened

I’ve made some very similar to these, and they could be made ahead and frozen. I haven’t tried freezing them, because we eat them too fast. But they did last in the refrigerator for a couple of days before they were baked.

You can really do either, but we like to have them all prepared and then freeze them. Pull out as needed to thaw and then bake.

I made these tonight and I’m frustrated. I am not a very skilled -at all- chef so I am sure my lack of skills had a lot to do with it. Mixing up the filling ingredients was a nightmare. How is it supposed to look? I had globs and globs of cream cheese and couldn’t get them to mix. Maybe change the ingredient list to say a half packet of ranch instead of 1 packet; When I saw mix ingredients I mixed all ingredients.
I tried to get as much powder out as I could but they are still sooo salty. User error I know.
Sounds like maybe your cream cheese was straight from the fridge? If you set it out in the morning (or at least several hours before you plan to need it….or thaw it in the microwave a bit on the “defrost” function if you’re like me and you still forget!) it should be room temp by dinner time. The packet of ranch seasoning might be a personal taste thing. I plan to use a homemade mix, add a little at a time, and taste as I go to make sure it’s not too salty for us. I’m planning on making these tonight and will definitely update as to how it goes. Try again, I think you can get it!
How many chicken breasts are you using to get 4 cups shredded chicken. Did you all find it was the right ratio of chicken with other ingredients. Seems like a lot of chicken!

To end up with four cups shredded chicken, cook 1 1/3 pounds of raw, skinless boneless chicken. Or, buy a cooked rotisserie chicken that weighs between 2 1/3-3 pounds. I hope this helps.
Can’t eat flour tortillas (gluten free), what about corn tortillas?
Corn tortillas will work great in this recipe too.
If you freeze them before baking do you defrost them when you get ready to bake them again.
You can pull them out ahead of time to thaw in the fridge.

We have not had a problem. They may be over filled and that’s why the toppings are coming out the ends.

We have also brushed avocado oil on top instead of spray and it works just as well.

Sure, Ranch dressing should work just fine. We all have to substitute ingredients during this pandemic.

This was a hit our home! We aren’t onion people so I made it without onions. The recipe didn’t make 20 for me because I put a little extra filling…but there’s still 16 so it’s enough for our family. I served with a fresh pot of beans, sour cream, avocado, and salsa! I want to try this with jalepenos in the mix next time!
